Palghar is a town in Thane district and is located 129 Kms towards North from the district headquarters Ratnagiri. It is a border town located near Gujarat and situated at a distance of 87 Kms from capital city Mumbai. Many villages surrounding Palghar include Kelva, Satpati, Shirgaon, Tarapur, Umroli, Saphale etc. It is located at a distance of 10 kilometers from Maharashtras biggest MIDC, Tarapur (Maharashtra trial Development Corporation). Palghar houses more than 1500 manufacturing units including Tata Steel, Jindal Steel, Viraj, Siyarams, Tarapur power station, Rayon, Camlin.
Connectivity
Connectivity to the town is good and smooth as it is a part of the Suburban Rail network. The town lies on the Mumbai-Ahmadabad rail route and is the next major junction after the town of Virar. By road, it is connected by the Highway 8 which connects Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Palghar is a divisional head of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) which provides direct connectivity to j, Pune, Vaduj, Thane, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Kalyan, Alibag, Nandurbar, Bhusaval, Shirdi, Nashik from Palghar. Connectivity of the locality is set to improve with the local railway line from Virar which is expected to extend to Dahanu. It will provide a further boost to real estate prices in the locality.
